Mission (Abstract)

Our purpose is to promote and participate interest in birds through birding tours, feeding birds and learning more about birds and their behaviors, habitats, and relationship to other wildlife and man.

Additional Organization Description

Programs:

Club Field Trips:
We conduct six to eight field trips each year. Places visited include Itasca State Park, the Felton Prairie, Rothsay WMA, Tewaukon NWR and Tamarac NWR.

Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds:
Our club helps to plan this annual event, which is held the third weekend in May. At this time, spring migration is usually at its peak in our area, where prairie meets both northern hardwood and pine forests. Activities include field trips, workshops, speakers, bird walks, arts & crafts.
